Abstract
The radiative heat transfer problem for bodies traveling through the earth's atmosphere, as formulated in [1, 3], is considered in the case of low altitudes, i.e., for high gas densities and optical thicknesses in the shock layer. These factors require the use of improved methods of calculation.
