Possibility of rarefaction shocks in anisotropic plasma

Abstract

The density variation in low-intensity shock waves propagated in an anisotropic rarefied plasma is studied on the basis of a system of relations in the Chew-Goldberger-Low magnetohydrodynamics (CGL MHD) approximation [1].
