Probable mechanism of change in the spectral index of ionospheric irregularities

  • Published:
Radiophysics and Quantum Electronics Aims and scope

Abstract

A probable cause of variability in the spectral index of ionospheric irregularities is discussed, based on the ability of intense longitudinal plasma waves to generate density disturbances with steep fronts. The results are experimentally confirmed.
