Summary

A systematic study of the effect of substitution on the thermodynamic stability of the 1∶1 complexes which the UO II2 ion forms in aqueous media with salicylic acid and ten monosubstituted salicylic acids has been carried out using a new spectrophotometric method. The new features of the method as well as a thermodynamic treatment for the effect of substitution is discussed.
