Abstract
The deterministic dynamics of a Hopfield circular network for bit-sequence of recognition [15–17] is investigated. For simple initial conditions, the evolution equation is solved in terms of an overlap function. Stationary regimes of the traveling-wave type are found. The transient processes in the system and their dependence on the spatial structure of connectedness and the initial conditions are discussed. Two alternative types of associative information processing are proposed on the basis of the analysis.
