Radiophysics and Quantum Electronics Aims and scope

Conclusions

We consider that the radio spectrometer is one phase of work to automate investigations with the radio telescope. The presently operating variant of the system allows us to carry out a broad class of spectral observations. The accumulated experience from the experiments will be used for further development of the system. The following directions for the development for automation can be identified:

  1. a)

    transition to fully automated control of the entire complex of the radio-telescope receiving equipment including control of the heterodyne frequency, the balance rays, and control of individual parts of the equipment by the operator;

  2. b)

    conversion to automatic guidance of the telescope and automatic link-up of various investigative programs;

  3. c)

    further improvement of the interactive control mode, in the interest of simplicity and operating convenience.
