Abstract
It is shown that in a medium with randomly layered inhomogeneities, a nonstationary pulse signal emitted by a plane (one-dimensional) source is localized in a closed region of space due to the interference of multiply scattered fields. A wave packet emitted by a point source in such a medium is channeled along the layers.
