Abstract
We report on the results of a theoretical analysis of the influence of quantization error on the performance of an adaptive transversal filter minimizing the root-mean-square error by means of a gradient least-mean-square algorithm. An expression for the covariance matrix of weight coefficients is defined. The dependence of the output excess noise power on the adaptive system parameters is analyzed.
