Conclusions
Fer a ring laser, therefore, locking occurs at a threshold signal intensity (within the resonator) of ∼100 W/cm2. Here the intensity of the ring-laser radiation equals 20–35 kW/cm2-i. e., we obtain an energy gain of ≥102 with the spectrum of this laser being narrowed by a factor of ∼103.
The experimental results are in qualitative agreement with the existing theories.
