Solution of the variational problem of shaping a nozzle to achieve a uniform supersonic flow

Abstract

A solution is given to the problem of constructing a supersonic flat unsymmetrical nozzle achieving a given uniform flow at the outlet with a minimal length of one of the contours and a given length (or ordinate of the end point) of the other contour.
