Membrane enclosed alginate beads containingGluconobacter cells and molecular dispersed catalase

  • Published:
Biotechnology Letters Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

A new type of coimmobilized biocatalysts is made by coating alginate beads with an additional membrane, in which molecular dispersed catalase could be retained besides living cells ofGluconobacter oxydans. Using hydrogen peroxide as oxygen donor efficiency of gluconate formation was considerably increased as compared with conventional aeration.
