Summary
The consumption of macronutrients (carbon source, phosphate source, ratio of ammonium to nitrate, plant growth regulators) for biomass production in plant cell cultures ofSolanum tuberosum L, cv. Judith, are studied. This work is focussed on the improvement of the basal medium (Murashige and Skoog 1962) in order to decrease generation time of plant cells. The specific growth rate of plant cells. which grow on the modified medium is 0.41 day−1, compared to 0.19 day−1 on the Murashige and Skoog's medium.
