Mössbauer spectroscopy in physical metallurgy

In this anniversary contribution the natural and intimate “match making” which occurs between the two star performers-57Fe in Mössbauer spectroscopy and iron in physical metallurgy—is described by selecting typical examples reflecting the author's interest: phases, f.c.c. γ-Fe, defects, diffusion and amorphous metals.
