Penicillium frequentans IFO 5692 oxidized enantioselectively (methylthiomethyl)ferrocene (1) to (R)-(−)-(methylsulfinylmethyl)ferrocene (2) (≥98 %e.e.) andCorynebacterium equi IFO 3730 to (S)-(+)-2 (69 %e.e.).
