Summary
The optimum cultural conditions for the production of lipase byA. strictum under stationary condition are: period of incubation, 7 days; temperature, 30°C; xylose at a concentration of 2% (w/v) and 3.5% (w/v) soyabean meal as carbon and nitrogen sources respectively. Incorporation of 1% (v/v) of Tween 80 in culture medium enhanced enzyme production while the presence of fatty acids reduced both fungal growth and lipase production. The enzyme showed broad substrate specificity.
