Abstract

Specific consumption and production rates of nutrients and by-products (metabolic quotients) were estimated from batch growth data for recombinant CHO and BHK cell lines. Distinct differences were identified for the two types of continuous cell lines and were further observed for the adherent baby hamster kidney cells as a function of serum concentration.
