Conclusion
This is a most interesting paper which has far-reaching implications. At the moment, the data which it cites must be considered as preliminary and the conclusions it reaches as tentative hypotheses. If analysis for other years and the inclusion also of the excluded corporations and of other countries shows that the conclusions are robust, it would have important implications for the evolution of economic systems, the theory of the firm, corporate stakeholders, public policy, European integration and the teaching of economics.
