Abstract

The article discusses the use of a polynomial as a modulating function for determining the unknown parameter in a linear differential equation. It is shown that the accuracy of the calculation can depend to a considerable degree on the choice of the approximate solution. The article gives a comparison between the exact value of the parameter and an approximate value, obtained using the method of modulating functions.
