Magnetic relaxation and paramagnetic Mössbauer spectra: Influence of the off-diagonal hyperfine coupling

Abstract

The influence of magnetic relaxation on paramagnetic Mössbauer spectra is considered in the case of non-diagonal hyperfine coupling. The Clauser and Blume stochastic theory is used to calculate paramagnetic spectra of57Fe,169Tm and166Er nuclei for doublet or pseudo-doublet electronic states and various point symmetries. The influence of an external magnetic field is presented.
