Abstract
In this paper, the problems of a FEL amplifier with two-element circularly polarized and self-adaptive wiggler are discussed. In order to get the optimum amplifier, the relations between the characteristic quantities of the amplifier and the amplifier structure parameters are studied by computer simulation. The results show that the influence of the free-drift-space and two-interaction region structure on the gain of the amplifier is sensitive. The results are also compared with one-element wiggler.
