Abstract

GYROTRON III is a cw source of near-millimetre wave radiation that is tunable over the frequency range 75 to 330 GHz. The high-order waveguide modes that are characteristic of tunable gyrotrons are converted into a well-collimated, linearly-polarized beam by means of a quasi-optical or Vlasov antenna.
