Conical antennas as coupling structures for microwave and infrared devices

Conclusion

This paper has been devoted to conical antennas considered as possible coupling structures for microwave or infrared devices. According to geometrical parameters and to the operating frequency band, the radiation properties of such structures have been illustrated by means of numerical or experimental results. Several exact or approximate methods have been used and compared together in such a way it is possible, in a given situation, to choose the most efficient approach for calculating the radiation patterns. Such easy calculations have proved to be usefull in coupling optimisation of laser beams to whisker detectors or mixers.
