Distribution of water between salts in saturated NaCl-KCl-H2O solutions at 25‡ C

Abstract

The problem of water distribution between the salts in a concentrated three-component solution salt (I)-salt(II)-H2O is solved theoretically by dividing it into two solutions salt(I)-H2O and salt(II)-H2O, iso-active with respect to water. By way of example the distribution of water between the salts in the saturated three-component solution NaCl-KCl-H2O at 25‡ C is examined, and the results of the calculations are discussed
