Conclusions

  1. 1.

Expressions have been derived for computations of the maximum errors in determining the basic metrological parameters of an e.s. as a function of the errors in measuring pH, the temperature of solutions, and the emf of the electrodes. By analysis of the form of the resultant equations we determined the optimum methodological conditions for carrying out experimental investigations.

  2. 2.

We have developed a method for evaluating the actual errors in determining e.s. parameters on the basis of error theory and statistical analysis. It has been established that the deviations of the emf conform to the normal distribution law.

The method permits the recommendation of apparatus having certain error characteristics as a function of a given accuracy and fiducial probability in determining an e.s. parameter and its form.
