Conclusions
The measurements showed that, along with ordinary optical feedback, there occurs an optical feedback caused by ionic feedback; the contribution of the latter, however, to the overall background level is extremely small.
As expected, the FÉU-42 was more suitable for operation in the “coincidence” detectors. It should also be noted that the ratio of the number of pulses due to the ordinary optical feedback to the number of pulses due to the optical feedback caused by ions was significantly greater for the FÉU-42.
