Determining the tensor of inertia and the coordinates of the center of mass of an object

Abstract

A general survey and summary is given of the results of the author's work devoted to the solution of the problem of the precise determination of the tensor of inertia and the coordinates of the center of mass of various objects regarded as rigid bodies. Further, a method of adjusting the position of the center of mass (by attaching additional masses) and a method of calculating the new value of the tensor of inertia in a system of central coordinates attached to the object are developed.
