Supplies for standard temperature lamps from rectifiers

Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

Conclusions

The current through a standard temperature lamp should not vary during measurements by more than 4·10−5−7·10−5 times its value to limiterror in reproducing temperature to 0.1°. The ripple factor should not exceed 10−3 at 50 Hz, and 10−2 at 300 Hz and higher frequencies.

These requirements are met by a rectifier operating from three-phase mains with frequency doubling and a voltage stabilizer type U1199.

The complete power pack is small and it is simpler and less expensive than the storage batteries used at the present time for feeding standard temperature lamps.
