Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

The above formulas are general and can be used for calculating ball diameters and dimensions required for checking corrected or uncorrected spur gears, as well as special involute gearing with any generating angles or number of teeth in cases when the distance between the base circle and the points where the ball touches the profile of the tooth is given.

  2. 2.

The design formulas cover all the cases encountered in checking gearing.

  3. 3.

The table of involute functions is not required for the above computations.
