Chromosome counts inCalea (Asteraceae-Heliantheae)

Abstract

Chromosome numbers are reported for six taxa ofCalea, among them tetraploidC. septuplinervia, the only known polyploid inCalea s. str. The base chromosome number ofCalea is interpreted as x = 19.
