Strain-gauge bridge with resistance boxes

Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

Summary

The above resistance-box strain-gauge bridge can be widely used in laboratory practice for endurance testing.

The recommended strain-gauge bridge types B-K (see table) separate the measured voltage from other voltages produced in straight rods of uniform cross section.

The above technique for computing stresses and deformations from strain-gauge data can be extended to other strain-gauge bridge circuits, for instance with low and high-resistance slide wires.
