Conclusions

For automatically measuring the parameter which characterizes the switching device of the tested instrument, it is advisable to connect an integrating circuit between the instrument's output and its controlling input, and to ensure a periodic measurement process.

A substantial reduction of the measurement time is attained by substituting for the integrating circuit an amplifier the sign of whose output impedance can be changed.

An expression has been found for representing the tested switching instrument's input-signal variations law for which the measurement time is at a minimum.
