Application of the packless piston principle to precision measuring instruments

  • Published:
Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

Conclusions

It follows from the above review that work in improving reference and calibrating instruments should be further developed. At the same time it is necessary to develop high-precision dead-weight piston instruments in order to satisfy the growing requirements of our national economy for precision instruments used in direct measurements under varying operating conditions, especially since the potentialities inherent in the principle of a packless piston provide the possibility for the successful solution of problems in the above field of measurements.
