Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

Rational intervals between the tests of measuring devices which are used for controlling production should be established on the basis of the minimum expenditure for testing and the minimum damage to production due to the unsatisfactory operation of the measuring devices.

  2. 2.

The above problem can only be solved in the case of a known failure distribution law and a known failure intensity of measuring devices. This circumstance once again confirms the necessity for organizing correctly the collection of statistical data on failures.

  3. 3.

The expression obtained for an optimum interval between tests holds for an exponential distribution law of failures.
