Increasing the measuring accuracy of inside micrometers

  1. 1.

    One of the principal sources of error with standard inside micrometers is the thermal deformation of the pipe and of the rod.

  2. 2.

    The micrometer must not be touched by hand, either during the measurement or when it is carried.

  3. 3.

    Micrometers of the design described above should be used for increasing the accuracy in checking openings.
