Conclusions
-
1.
Gigantic palladium clusters and palladium black effectively catalyze the formation of acetals from carbonyl compounds and alcohols.
-
2.
Comparison of the acid properties of the clusters, Pd-black and mononuclear complexes of palladium(II) indicates that aprotic acid centers of the catalyst participate in the reaction.
