Improving the calibration accuracy of gauge blocks

Abstract

Improvement of calibration accuracy of 1st and 2nd class gauge blocks with the aid of an absolute Kesters interferometer is discussed. Recommendations are proposed for the design of a horizontal interferometer with a two-way measuring circuit for calibration of gauges longer than 100 mm.
