Abstract
We examine the general problem of wavefront measurement of coherent light, and present a method for the recovery of the object field from its diffraction pattern. This method is based on the combined application of the amplitude-phase relationship of the wavefront and an iteration procedure, and is limited only by the size of the object-space aperture. The results of simultaneous as well as experimental data attest to a high accuracy for the described method.
