Interferometer measurements of block gauges by means of helium-neon lasers

  • Published:
Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

Conclusions

Helium-neon lasers with resonators stabilized for their length can already be effectively used for interference measurements of long gauges. For this purpose the wavelength of each laser should be certified by comparing it either to the wavelength of the reference-standard radiation of Kr86, or with the required precision to the wavelengths of secondary reference radiations of Kr86, Hg198, or Cd114.
