Determination of errors in mechanisms with lower pairs

Summary

The method developed by the author makes possible the construction of a single polygon of small displacements without drawing the transformed mechanisms. The polygon of small displacements provides the complete solution of the problem of determining the effect of all links upon the position error of the driven link (and also upon the position error of any of the links of the mechanism).

Considering the displacement of the centers of curvature, and the changes in the radii of curvature of the profile, it is possible to extend the suggested method to cover mechanisms containing higher pairs.
