Conclusions

  1. 1.

IR and Raman spectra of the cyclic compounds 2-oxo-2-methyl-1,3, 2-dioxaphosphorinane (I) and 2-oxo-2-methyl-1,3,2-dioxaphosphepane (II) were studied. The vibrations of conformers (I) were calculated.

  2. 2.

Molecule (I) is characterized by conformational equilibrium of chairlike forms with axial and equatorial orientations of the P=O bond with predominance of the former in nonpolar media and of the latter in polar media. The e form is crystallized.

  3. 3.

The corresponding seven-membered analog, molecule (II), under the same conditions has a twisted chair form.
