1.
The interaction of cyclododecyl and n-dodecyl radicals with 9,10-anthraquinone in the corresponding liquid hydrocarbons, which has been investigated by means of pulse radiolysis, goes forward with rate constants from 109 to 1010 liters/mole·sec and is accompanied by the formation of adducts — apparently, charge transfer complexes.

2.
In the presence of oxygen, hydrocarbon radicals with the quinone form oxygen-containing species that are capable of propagating the oxidation chain and regenerating the original quinone.
