Conclusions

  1. 1.

We have investigated the resonance Raman spectra of polyene ω-dimethylaminocarbonyl compounds and we have measured the absolute differential cross sections (ADC's) of the resonance Raman scattering at the maximum of the long-wavelength absorption band.

  2. 2.

A polyene with two identical groups in the α and ω positions (or with two groups with identical electronegativity) has the same resonance Raman ADC as the unsubstituted compound with the same effective number of conjugated double bonds, but introduction of groups with sharply different electronegativity into the α and ω positions leads to significant decrease in the resonance Raman ADC.
