Study of the mechanism of isomerization of 2-bromopropyl benzoate using an18O isotopic label

Conclusions

2-Bromopropyl benzoate has been obtained labeled with the isotope18O. The isomerization of 1(2)-bromoprop-2(1)-yl benzoates occurs via an acyloxonium mechanism.
