Conclusions

The insecticides DDT and 1,1-bis(p-chlorophenyl)-2,2-dichlorocyclopropane have similar conformations in solutions.

The insecticide DDT and its analogs in solutions have a conformation, in which one aromatic ring eclipses the C-H bond (ρ=62±3‡), and the plane of the second ring is perpendicular to the Car-C-Car plane (θ=85‡).
