Inversion of the highest occupied molecular orbitals in the condensation of selenophene with a benzene ring

Conclusions

The photoelectron spectral data of selenophene and its benzo derivative indicate that condensation of the five-membered heterocycle with a benzene ring leads to inversion of the highest occupied molecular orbitals.
