Conclusions

  1. 1.

The reaction of esters of chloro- and bromonitroacetic acids (I) with NaHSO3, Na2SO3, and Na2S2O4, has resulted in the formation of Na-salts of esters of nitrosulfoacetic acid.

  2. 2.

In the reaction of (I) with Na2SO3 and a double quantity of NaHCO3, Na-salts of esters of halonitroacetic acid are formed, and the reaction of (I) with Na2S2O4 and NaHCO3 leads to Na-salts of esters of sulfoacetic acid.

  3. 3.

Physicochemical methods have been used to determine the spectroscopic characteristics and pKa of sodium salts of esters of nitrosulfoacetic acids and their low toxicity has been established.
