Complexes of liquid crystal o-hydroxyazo compounds with Cu2+ and Pd2+ ions

Abstract

Liquid crystal o-hydroxyazo compounds were prepared and used to give complexes with Cu2+ and Pd2+ ions. The structures of these complexes were studied by ESR, IR, and UV spectroscopy. The relationship of the structures of these complexes and their mesogenic properties was examined.
