Abstract
The channel for the reaction of nitrogen atoms and methane yielding hydrogen atoms does not exceed 10% at ∼20‡C. The rate constant for the reaction of nitrogen atoms and ethane at ∼20‡C is (4 ± 2)·10−16 cm3/sec.
