Summary
-
1.
An investigation of the catalytic properties and photoelectron spectra of alumina-rhodium catalysts for the cyclotrimerization of ethylene (CTE) it has been established that the activity of the catalysts and the electronic state of the rhodium changed substantially under the influence of the reaction medium.
-
2.
During the working of a Rh-Al2O3·F catalyst in the CTE reaction a positive charge arises on the Rh clusters; the subsequent decrease in catalytic activity is accompanied by a return of the rhodium to a state close to Rh(0).
