Mechanism for the inhibition of the autooxidation of cyclohexanone by alkylammonium salts

Conclusions

Tetraalkylammonium salts may efficiently hinder the oxidation of ketones by catalyzing the decomposition of α-ketohydroperoxides, mainly through a pathway not involving the formation of free radicals.
